Saints lost out in this important Spartan One clash. Both sides had made changes but it was the home side who came out on top in a game of few chances. S
aints started confidently probing for openings and were not troubled until the 30th minute when Keeper David Bailey made a great save from a fierce drive from the edge of the area. A mix up in the Saints defence on 35 minutes allowed the home striker to slot the ball home. HT 1-0
The second half continued in the same vein with the home side camped in their own half as Saints tried to create an equaliser. Quattromini,Nicolas and Petrucci were introduced to in the last 25 minutes as the away side pushed to score but London Colney held firm to secure three important points.
Coach Hector Varelah " We really needed to win that game to maintain pressure on the top teams and we are disappointed with the performance. We have no midweek game so have a chance to regroup ready for Saturday's Cup game".
