Toomey triple too much for E's

Clinical finishing by summer signing Lewis Toomey, who scored a 20-minute hat-trick, carried St Albans City to a 3-2 victory over Enfield at the Essex Senior League sides Goldsdown Road ground on Saturday.

Two of Toomey’s treble were created by the boot of Richard Graham whose precision at set-pieces has been one of the highlights of City’s games so far this summer.

Manager David Howell used 21 players as City chalked up their first win of the summer but missing was Adam Everitt who has elected to return to one of his former clubs and sign for Conference South side Eastleigh.

Amongst the trialists seen at Enfield for the first time were defenders Danny Gordon (Staines Town) and Curtis Ujah (Hayes & Yeading, Slough Town and Boreham Wood amongst others).

A match report can be found on the St Albans & Harpenden Review website.
