Drew Roberts returned to haunt City with a late winner at Clarence Park as Bedford Town made off with the points in a 2-1 win.

In front of a good crowd of 463, Josh Beech gave the Eagles the lead midway through the first half before captain James Gray levelled for Saints after 74 minutes.

Having been rewarded for their pressure, with new recruits Chris Seeby and Howard Newton blending well, City pushed on for all three points but were caught on the break 10 minutes from time when ex-Saint Roberts steered home.

After the interruption to a three-game winning run, City now go to Redditch on Tuesday needing  to win to get their Evo-Stik Southern Premier play-off push back on track.
