swindongoalcelebrationsAN added time penalty converted by Sakho Bakare gave City a 2-1 home win over Swindon Supermarine and three precious points in their late-season quest to reach the Evo-Stik Southern League Premier play-offs.

A goal after six minutes by skipper James Gray looked to have set Saints on their way when he tucked home Dewayne Clarke's low cross.

Basement boys Supermarine responded spiritedly, however, and levelled in the 36th minute with a header by centre forward Matt Wright.

City again struggled for rhythm after half-time, looking like a side in need of the game after last week's postponement at Redditch, and the game looked to be heading for a draw to the disappointment of the home fans in a good crowd of 446.

But refere Colin Reeve spotted a handball when Ryan Watts sent in a last-ditch cross and pointed to the spot.

Bakare duly sidefooted home gleefully for his fourth goal in three games to take City to within six points of a play-off place after a fifth win in seven games, from which they have taken 16 points.
