 Saints Reserves slumped to a Bank Holiday defeat at Wodson Park.The starting line up which included Rob Haworth,James Bent and 18 year old Lewis Frost,failed to get to grip with a difficult playing surface in the first half although Saints created several decent chances. The second half possession was dominated by Saints but they could not find a way to break down a determined and well organised home side. Saints keeper Kelly did not have a save to make so It was against the run of play when Wodson took the lead with a header from a free kick on 70 minutes. Saints then pushed hard for the equaliser but to no avail. Manager Franco Sidoli " we are very disappointed not to have picked up something from this game. It was just one of those days where we could have played for another week and not scored ! We now have a really tough game against Chesham Reserves on Monday so we will hope for a better performance then." Reserves are at home on Monday 2nd January : kick off 1pm at Clarence Park. |
