St Albans City are pleased to announce the signing of two players on the eve of Saturday’s Evo-Stik League Southern Premier Division fixture with Bedford Town at Clarence Park. Howard Newton, who is a wide attacking midfielder who can play on either flank, joins the Saints on dual registration from Conference South side Staines Town. The 29-year-old has made eight appearances for Guyana including playing in a World Cup qualifying match. Howard, who has played against St Albans City during his time at Staines, has also played for Sutton United, Dagenham & Redbridge and Harrow Borough amongst others. The second new face is utility player Chris Henry who joins City from another Conference South club, Tonbridge Angels. Chris has also played for other Kent clubs Maidstone United, Chatham Town and Ebbsfleet United for whom he made a brief appearance at Clarence Park last season. We wish both players every success on their arrival at Clarence Park and manager David Howell was quick to welcome his latest signings. “I am delighted to add to the squad and both players are good additions as we look to maintain our push for a play-off position,” said Howell. |
